Classified hubs replace the functionality of a front-derailleur, hence it's ratio is similar. Combined with our cassette options you can have both a wide range and small gear steps, while also retaining the big-step or bail-out functionality that you would have with a front-derailleur setup. At the same time it does away with chain drop/ chain jamming typically associated with front derailleurs and thus provides more reliable, consistent and faster shifting under pedaling loads regardless of the circumstances you are in.
